We are so happy you are here! Our mission is to educate photographers about the business skills necessary to become successful. The idea of the morning hedgehog podcast comes from a combination of the business idea of the hedgehog concept and a belief that what you think about at the beginning of the day impacts the rest of your day. We also believe that success is a process and a journey and we are here to guide you in the direction of success!
This podcast is designed to start out your day by giving you key business ideas that will help you be successful doing the work you love to do. Whether you want to know how to start a photography business or looking to up your current game, we hope you will find great ideas here.
With each episode we will simplify and demystify business by focusing on one key concept at a time. Each episode will help you uncover your hedgehog concept that will propel your success.

Your Hosts

Glynns Thomas currently lives in Sacramento California and has 30 years of advertising experience. She has worked for several of the world’s best-known advertising agencies in Los Angeles on accounts including Hilton Hotels, Princess Cruise Lines, American Airlines, Infiniti Motors, Bank of America and more. She was also a Vice President of Internet Marketing at Wells Fargo Bank.
Today, she teaches big corporate advertising strategies to emerging businesses on a shoestring budget. She also owns her own emerging business that is a home photography studio focused on headshots and business branding photography. She is a member of PPA and the PPA affiliate, The Professional Photographers of the Sacramento Valley (PPSV).
Aside from advertising and photography, Glynns is a wife and a mother to two teenagers and is working on creating a new life back in the U.S. after having recently lived in India and Dubai.

Ira Gardner lives in Spokane Washington and has been a professional photographer for over 30 years and was nationally certified by the Professional Photographers of America in 1995. He currently maintains two photography studios in Spokane Washington where he specializes in black and white fine art photography and commercial portraiture.
From 1995 – 2005 Ira was a business management software developer and consultant for photography studios all over North America. His software STUDIO GOLD emphasized customer relationship management, production workflows, and a suite of financial management reports that helped business owners make strategic management decisions. It was the first business management database to be networkable over Windows and Mac systems and over the internet.
Ira has taught business practices, portrait photography, multimedia, and documentary filmmaking for over 20 years at Spokane Falls Community College and served as chair of the Applied Visual Arts department for eight years.
Ira has also served as chair of the Northwest Region of the Society for Photographic Education and as a member of the board of directors for the Professional Photographers of Washington, Richmond Art Collective and Spokane Film Project.
In his spare time he enjoys cooking and traveling to wineries with his wife, camping and riding motorcycles.
